I drew this hand suspended in a quiet moment, fingers slightly curled as if reaching for something just out of frame. Working in graphite let me slow down and really study the weight of the knuckles, the subtle shifts in shadow across the tendons, and the softness at the wrist. I was focused on capturing that fragile in-between gesture — not fully extended, not fully at rest — where there’s both tension and vulnerability. The empty space around it feels important to me; it gives the hand room to breathe and invites the viewer to imagine what it’s reaching toward.
